About Me

My photo
Welcome to my ScandinAsian food blog. A blog about what I like to make in my little Norweigan kitchen, from homemade meals to fun creative sandwiches. My parents gave me the name Sorieya, a Cambodian name, which means sun. I'm originally from the United States. Now I'm currently living in Norway, married to a Norwegian man with 3 beautiful children. It's hard being away from my family back in the States and I miss them everyday. I am not an artist but I love making fun sandwiches for my kids. I am not a professional chef but I love to cook and I love being in the kitchen. I love introducing my children to different kind of international food, introducing food from my childhood and explaining to my kids the history about their culture and food. I love spending those quality time together teaching my little ones how to make bread, Khmer food, and teaching me Norwegian. My Norwegian isn't that great but I do understand just the basics but speaking it, that's another story.

Homemade Pie Dinner

I have not been blogging during the past week. I had been spending my week off with my family. Celebrating birthday, grilling, taking a shopping trip to Sweden. When I'm in Sweden it's mostly for grocery/shopping purposes because it's cheaper and much more varieties, and particularly American products. When I am in the American aisle I feel like I'm at home. Now it's back to reality. Today I had made homemade dinner pie. Chopped turkey pastrami, crisp diced bacon, broccoli, onions, eggs, Gouda cheese, cream, seasoning in homemade pie crust.
Ingredients (3 cups all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon sugar, 12 cubes cold unsalted butter, 1/3 cup vegetable shortening, 1 cup shredded Gouda cheese, 70 ml cold water)
Mixed and combined all ingredients well with my hands.
 My pie dough.
In a pie form ready for the filling.
My filling (8 medium eggs, 1 cup broccoli chopped into bite size, diced turkey pastrami, chopped crisp cooked bacon, diced onions, seasoning sauce, salt & pepper, dash of seasoning salt, 1/2 cup shredded cheese, 7 tablespoons cream)
Poured my filling into my pie crust.
In the oven baked for half hour at 230 degrees C. until golden and center is set.
Let cool. Ready to be cut into slices and serve.
